Assessing the effectiveness, acceptability and sustainability of a culturally adapted evidence-based intervention for Indigenous parents. This project will explore a partnership model for capacity building in Indigenous child protection services. It will also evaluate the effectiveness, acceptability and sustainability of a culturally adapted evidence-based parenting program designed to reduce family risk factors and child behavioural and emotional problems in Indigenous families.

Using mixed methods, this project aims to develop knowledge partnerships with Indigenous communities in three regions across northern Australia to build on understandings of how to respond to alcohol misuse more effectively, ensuring that alcohol is managed in ways that are relevant and useful to communities in a wide range of contexts. Alcohol is a major cause of social, legal and health concerns for Indigenous Australian ....Alcohol management in Indigenous north Australia: policies and responses. Welfare receipt, demoralisation and mental health: how can welfare reform promote personal wellbeing and social inclusion? Welfare recipients are more likely to experience mental disorders and have poor wellbeing than non-recipients, and this can be a barrier to employment. This project examines the factors that may improve their mental health, promote employment outcomes, and help the Commonwealth Government develop effective welfare reform policies.

Welfare policies and proposed reforms aim to reduce welfare expenditure, increase workforce participation, and promote personal and family wellbeing.
