The Australian Research Data Commons (ARDC) invites you to participate in a short survey about your
interaction with the ARDC and use of our national research infrastructure and services. The survey will take
approximately 5 minutes and is anonymous. It’s open to anyone who uses our digital research infrastructure
services including Reasearch Link Australia.
We will use the information you provide to improve the national research infrastructure and services we
deliver and to report on user satisfaction to the Australian Government’s National Collaborative Research
Infrastructure Strategy (NCRIS) program.
Please take a few minutes to provide your input. The survey closes COB Friday 29 May 2026.

The goal of the project is to develop and validate a new theory for how information systems can be designed to assist organisations in becoming innovative. Technological innovation is designed to increase productivity and economic growth, but knowledge is lacking about how information systems can meaningfully support organisations in becoming innovative. The goal of this project is to develop and test a theory of ‘innovation systems’ that would describe design principles for information systems that provide effective and efficient support to organisational innovation processes. The expected project outcomes would assist the development of new systems to support organisational innovations, the management of innovation initiatives to increase productivity and growth, and the effective assessment of technologies to support innovation.Read moreRead less

However, changes based on evidence based research are needed to ensure that they are adapted to the task of creating entrepreneurial thinking, stimulating business creation and exploiting ideas in society. Multiple-case studies are generally regarded as more robust than single-case studies, providing the observation and analysis of a phenomenon in several settings. In order to satisfy the requirements of the replication strategy we analyze all funded ITRHs & ITTCs from 2012 to 2024.

Being able to adapt and respond to crises such as the COVID-19 pandemic or bushfires is important for Australia's economic development. This project investigates how crises can be turned into opportunities. It analyses the strategic crises responses of business ventures that managed to defy the odds and to achieve high growth because of crises. The outcomes include an improved understanding of the opportunities crises present; and actionable, empirically grounded insights into successful crises responses. As such, the project will make significant contributions to core areas of entrepreneurship and management research. It will also help policymakers and entrepreneurs to improve economic resilience and to foster sustainable economic growth.Read moreRead less
The relationship between firm innovation and performance and the role of the government. Productivity growth in Australia has plateaued. Although Federal and State Governments employ a range of different innovation policies designed to stimulate productivity growth, little is known about the effects these programs, and of innovation more generally, on firm performance. One reason why this relationship is unknown relates to the availability of firm-level data. Although Federal and State Governments employ a range of different innovation policies designed to stimulate productivity growth, little is known about the effects these programs, and of innovation more generally, on firm performance. One reason why this relationship is unknown relates to the availability of firm-level data. This project, will take advantage of unique access to a dataset provided by the Australian Bureau of Statistics which enables us to observe the activities of every firm in Australia. Using these data and appropriate econometric techniques, the study will examine the effect of a range of government policies designed to stimulate innovation and productivity growth. An interaction model for human–machine creative collaboration. The project aims to demonstrate how interactive systems can enhance creative productivity, through the development and evaluation of a model for how humans and AI can interact while creating. This is expected to generate new strategies for effective, intelligent, and domain-general creativity support. These new strategies will be validated in the domains of drawing and music composition by rigorous human-centred prototyping technique ....An interaction model for human–machine creative collaboration. The project aims to demonstrate how interactive systems can enhance creative productivity, through the development and evaluation of a model for how humans and AI can interact while creating. This is expected to generate new strategies for effective, intelligent, and domain-general creativity support. These new strategies will be validated in the domains of drawing and music composition by rigorous human-centred prototyping techniques. The principal anticipated outcome of the project is a model for how to enhance creative work through interacting with AI, an opportunity that is currently largely unexplored. Benefits will include an increase in the rate of creative outputs, both within the creative industries and throughout the economy.Read moreRead less

The transition to wider use of robotics and artificial intelligence may eventually make our citizens better off, yet effects on domestic income and wealth inequality remain uncertain, depending strongly on general governance and macroeconomic policy regimes. This project would help clarify income inequality effects, both abroad and in Australia, through (i) new numerical theory from calibrated economic models at the global and national levels; (ii) econometric testing of results from global and national data; (iii) the use of emerging insights to analyse economic policy responses and their global interaction as well as the implications for Australian economic policyRead moreRead less
Sustainable organisational change: Australian business responses to climate change. Australian businesses are expected to play a leading role in the fight against global warming. This project will generate new insights into how, though organisational change initiatives, Australian corporations are responding to the issue of climate change, as well as the sustainability of these initiatives.

Expected outcomes include an integrated understanding of new mobile employment permutations, knowledge about how to adapt to global workplace change and otherwise cope with dynamic digital skills retraining, and the development of world-class research capacity in Australia.Read moreRead less
Can technology make communication in complex systems safer and more efficient? Evaluation of an electronic test management system in health care. In many industries poor communication has a major impact on safety; in health, missed test results have impacts ranging from inappropriate antibiotic therapy to missed cancer diagnoses. This research will evaluate new information technology which can improve health outcomes and communication between clinicians, laboratories and patients.

This project aims to enhance the future of advanced manufacturing in Australia by mapping intersectional craft work within the Australian economy. Craft skills embedded and working in collaboration with industry are essential to innovation as Australia looks to develop high-end advanced manufacturing. This project will identify ways in which the skills of ‘making’ required to sustain and grow future manufacturing can be maintained and extended, supporting the survival and updating of current production; such skills will enable the kind of fertile ground out of which the innovation necessary for developing advanced manufacturing can grow.Read moreRead less
