Anxiety pervades many Western countries about the direction, nature and expression of social debate regarding community identities, and the social and cultural values underpinning them. Disputants are more likely to litigate, putting unnecessary pressure on over-stretched court resources. Australians pay for courts through taxes and pay indirectly when commercial litigants push their higher legal costs down into the prices they charge. This project will broaden the range of material available, providing important new resources to users of the site, reinforcing the site's role in the national information infrastructure through its involvement in a number of innovative projects, and strengthening APO's international dimension.
