The Australian Research Data Commons (ARDC) invites you to participate in a short survey about your
interaction with the ARDC and use of our national research infrastructure and services. The survey will take
approximately 5 minutes and is anonymous. It’s open to anyone who uses our digital research infrastructure
services including Reasearch Link Australia.
We will use the information you provide to improve the national research infrastructure and services we
deliver and to report on user satisfaction to the Australian Government’s National Collaborative Research
Infrastructure Strategy (NCRIS) program.
Please take a few minutes to provide your input. The survey closes COB Friday 29 May 2026.

Free radical chemistry is of increasing importance in the manufacture of improved plastics, paints and related materials, in helping restrict oxidative processes that can lead to adverse human health and also to the degradation of important industrial materials. The research will contribute to promoting & maintaining good health by developing new methods for reducing the impacts of ageing as well as in the treatment of several life-threatening conditions such as stroke. Industrial applications include better surface coatings for preserving metals, and additives to improve the quality and shelf life of beer and wines.Read moreRead less
Synthesis and Analysis of Canine Anabolic Steroid Metabolites. The Australian racing industry is a major driver of economic activity. In NSW, racing is estimated to contribute $1,000 million to GDP, $151 million to Government revenue and provide 50,000 jobs. The future security and prosperity of the racing industry depends on maintaining the highest standards of integrity in the public eye, and this in turn depends on the enforcement of regulations relating to illicit substances. The future security and prosperity of the racing industry depends on maintaining the highest standards of integrity in the public eye, and this in turn depends on the enforcement of regulations relating to illicit substances. The outcome of this project will be the introduction of robust methods of analysis for potential drug abuse in greyhound racing that will position Australia as a world leader in the field.Read moreRead less

It will provide through its synthetic node at NSW and Macquarie Universities and biological screening node at University of Sydney an essential resource that will enable modern combinatorial techniques to be applied to chemical and drug-lead development studies in the region.Read moreRead less
A new approach to the generation of long-lived charge-separated states in rigid Donor-Bridge-Acceptor systems. Electron transfer and energy transfer are ubiquitous in nature and they provide the key to the design of energy transducing materials. Electron transfer and energy transfer are ubiquitous in nature and they provide the key to the design of energy transducing materials. Considerable effort is being expended into studying light-induced electron transfer which leads to the formation of a charge-separated state or molecular "battery". To be useful, these batteries should have lifetimes at least in the microsecond domain and this is not easily achieved in practice. This project will explore a new, elegant, and promising approach to the efficient generation of very long-lived charge-separated states in rigid systems, which is based on triplet sensitisation.

Researchers at the Schools of Chemistry at The Australian National University and University of Wollongong are involved in a range of projects where new molecules are synthesised or discovered in natural products such as rainforest plants and marine organisms. Some of the molecules have already shown promise against diseases such as Alzheimer's and cardiovascular disease. In order to fully characterise these molecules, two complementary mass spectrometers, replacing ageing instrumentation will be commissioned at each site. In addition, researchers in Wollongong will acquire a MALDI mass spectrometer capable of imaging the distribution of molecules on tissues that may be pathologically important.Read moreRead less
