Climate change in the abandonment of islands: a high-resolution case study from the tropical Pacific. Climate change in the last 1000 years is thought to have had negative environmental and societal consequences in the Pacific, particularly in Palau through the occupation and abandonment of limestone islands. This project uses high-resolution data to establish the palaeoclimate and the cultural mechanisms used to cope with climate events.

Contraceptive technologies and reproductive choice among immigrant women. New immigrant and refugee women often have poor access to information, advice and support about contraceptive choices. Working with key immigrant and sexual health partner organisations, this project will identify ways to enhance choice and agency to ensure accessible services and optimal outcomes for women and their families.
Male sex workers and their clients. This project aims to study male sex workers’ relationships with their clients to evaluate how individual agency mitigates risks and dangers. Developments in biomedical HIV prevention can prevent infections but may also change sexual norms and the sexual marketplace for male sex workers and their clients. These changes align with rising rates of crystal methamphetamine use and online technologies in commercial sex encounters. As male sex work changes, a gap exi ....Male sex workers and their clients. Engaging objects: Indigenous communities, museum collections and the representation of Indigenous histories. This project centres on the research process leading up to a major exhibition in Australia of the British Museum's Australian Indigenous collections. By exploring the historical and representational issues evoked in creating this exhibition, new understandings of these collections and their historical and contemporary significance will result.

Desire and the political field: decision-making and political moralities from 'culture village' to Vientiane, Laos. This project critically assesses the 'culture village' model of development currently adopted by the Government of Laos. The project seeks to understand the logic of this development model, assess its impacts on the ethnic Katu village residents, and use these insights to develop an analysis of culture and development in modern state and decision making.
