Making a life with less: youth underemployment over the life course. This project aims to investigate the experiences and impacts of underemployment on young people. Using high-quality longitudinal data and qualitative interviews, this project expects to generate new, foundational knowledge about the employment pathways young people take following underemployment and the strategies they use to mitigate its effects. The Derwent Valley, Tasmania, is both an economically depressed rural area and one of the most special and richly endowed colonial landscapes. This project will assist in developing and restoring its status as a touring and angling landscape for tourists by researching and reconstructing its making through the acclimatisation network centred on its cultural and technical hub at Salm ....The Salmon Ponds and the Development of an Acclimatisation Culture and Landscape in the Derwent Valley, Tasmania. Social futures and life pathways of young people in Queensland: waves 4 and 5 of a longitudinal study. This project assesses the impact of globalisation on the attitudes, behaviors, and life pathways of a cohort of over 7000 young Queenslanders, first surveyed when they were aged 12 and 13. Participants will be followed up when they are aged 19 and 20 and 20/21 to examine their experiences of the transition from school to work, family and social life.
Indigenous Lifecourse Research, Data Governance and Capacity Building . This project aims to contribute to rectifying 3 significant gaps in Indigenous research in relation to data; a lack of Indigenous lifecourse research to inform policy development; a lack of Indigenous governance of data; and a broader lack of Indigenous statistical literacy and capability. This project expects to address these gaps: by initiating an Indigenous lifecourse research agenda, using existing datasets; by being th ....Indigenous Lifecourse Research, Data Governance and Capacity Building . This project aims to contribute to rectifying 3 significant gaps in Indigenous research in relation to data; a lack of Indigenous lifecourse research to inform policy development; a lack of Indigenous governance of data; and a broader lack of Indigenous statistical literacy and capability. This project expects to address these gaps: by initiating an Indigenous lifecourse research agenda, using existing datasets; by being the first project to model the application of Indigenous data governance to existing data resources; and by delivering a modularised Indigenous Statistics Course, the first of its kind in Australia, plus a set of statistical literacy workshops to Indigenous organisations to meet Indigenous determined data needs.
