Summary
This project aims to increase access to primary care settings for young people experiencing depression, suicidal ideation, and/or suicidal behavior, such as self-harm. More specifically, this project aims to:
1. Identify both barriers to help-seeking by young people, and appropriate pathways to primary care
2. Help inform what best practice looks like in primary care settings when identifying and supporting young people with depression or at risk of suicide and/or self-harm; and

3. To increase the capacity of GPs to support these young people
In order to achieve this, the current project comprises three components:
1. An examination of the perspectives of both GPs and young people with regard to best practice when identifying and supporting young people with depression and suicidality
2. Development of training materials and resources to facilitate best practice
3. Evaluation of the impact of the resources and materials developed
