2026 ARDC Annual Survey is now open!

The Australian Research Data Commons (ARDC) invites you to participate in a short survey about your interaction with the ARDC and use of our national research infrastructure and services. In a series of recent cases the High Court has emphasised the constitutional imperatives of judicial independence and impartiality in State court systems. These developments provide minimum human rights protections to individuals confronting criminal justice in the States. But what has not been considered is the cost of these developments. This project will investigate the uncertainty of the constitutional restrictions confronting State governments when responding to law and order priorities, and the extent to which these have led to the frustration of policy development and experimentation across the Australian federation.

    A legally-informed intervention for schools to prevent and intervene in cases of cyberbullying. Cyberbullying is a growing problem for young people as well as amongst adults in the workplace. This project will develop and trial a legally-informed intervention which will be delivered by young people in order to increase student, parent and teacher knowledge of the law to prevent and manage cyberbullying incidents.

How do Australia's prosecutors and judges interact with security and intelligence agents in the new field of counter-terrorism and which values and objectives do they pursue? In this study, Australia's 37 counter-terrorism prosecutions are examined to answer the question: 'is Australia becoming a "security" or "surveillance" society?'
