Evaluation of an Instrument to Assess the Needs of Indigenous Patients with Cancer. There is an urgent need to address the differentials in health outcomes for Indigenous populations through a variety of programs addressing access to cancer care. An important part of any health program is measurement of health outcomes. The project focuses on strengthening Australia's social and economic fabric by developing new knowledge about effective ways to prepare young Australian Indigenous children for mathematics success in school. Low Indigenous mathematics performance is a national shame - many school leavers have limited employment and life chances. This project will underpin Australia's long-term commitment to maintain environmental biodiversity and sustainability in the face of synergistic effects from multiple threats. These routes are documented in instruments of land management such as churingas, toas or shields, and in the mnemotic memory of songs and stories. This project is significant as it is one of the very few research projects conducted by a Torres Strait Islander on this issue, and its outcome will be a new perspective on the migration and culture of Torres Strait Islander people.
