Linked Data PolicyHub Stage II: Urban & Regional Planning & Communications. Linked data policy hub stage II: urban and regional planning and communications: This project aims to build on existing investments in open access knowledge infrastructure to develop collections of policy documentation and data and new tools for problem solving and analysis. Australia's ability to respond effectively to future economic, social and environmental challenges depends on our national capacity to develop and implement efficient and effective public policy. By enabling efficient universal access to historical and archived policy material, the project aims to provide critical research infrastructure that supports innovative approaches to Australian public policy research. This is expected to affect areas such as urban and regional community development and sustainability, planning and design of built and natural environments, infrastructure development, communications, and social and economic innovation.

There is a pressing need to improve the resource sustainability of cities and their resilience to hazards. Increasingly, governments seek to achieve such improvement by engaging directly with businesses and citizens. Whilst this collaborative city governance holds promise for transforming resource use and the resilience of cities, little is known about its performance benefits and effectiveness. The project aims to address this knowledge gap through a systematic empirical analysis of a series of collaborations in four global cities. The project aims to help refine theories of collaborative governance, and provide policymakers and practitioners with lessons on how to improve sustainability and resilience of cities in Australia and elsewhere.
