Abstract: Cloud Computing is an increasingly important worldwide development in business service provision. The business benefits of Cloud Computing usage include reduced IT overhead costs, greater flexibility of services, reduced TCO (Total Cost of Ownership), on-demand services, and improved productivity. As a result, Small and Medium-Sized Enterprises (SMEs) are increasingly adopting Cloud Computing technology because of these perceived benefits. The most economical deployment model in Cloud Computing is called the Public Cloud, which is especially suitable for SMEs because it provides almost immediate access to hardware resources and reduces their need to purchase an array of advanced hardware and software applications. The changes experienced in Cloud Computing adoption over the past decade are unprecedented and have raised important issues with regard to privacy, security, trust, and reliability. This chapter presents a conceptual model for Cloud Computing adoption by SMEs in Australia.

Abstract: A Business Intelligence (BI) system provides users with multi-dimensional information (a so-called ‘BI product') to support decision-making. However, existing BI systems overlook the lineage metadata which supports in idual data quality dimensions such as data believability and ease of understanding. Using a design science research paradigm, this paper proposes and develops an integrated framework (known as BI Product and Metacontent Map - ‘BIP-Map') to facilitate the traceability and accountability of BI products. Specifically, the business workflow layer of the integrated framework is modelled using business process modelling notation, and an information product map is used to model the second layer's information manufacturing process, whilst the third layer represents the metacontent detail of the data validation stage, from source system through to ETL, to the data warehousing stage. Also, the authors develop a BIP-Map informed prototype in collaboration with an online job advertising firm, the framework then being validated by key BI stakeholders of the firm. The integrated framework addresses in idual-related data quality issues and builds user confidence by enhancing the traceability and accountability of a BI product.

Abstract: Digitalization increasingly affects the accounting profession as it engages with pervasive technologically enabled systems that support business processes and financial management. Given these systems commonly result in less than voluntary use, mandating compliance is challenging. In this context, it is important to understand the attitudes of prospective users, as their negativity may waste resources through ambivalence, frustration, and under-use. Our study of Libyan accountants shows that in adopting a mandated technologically enabled accounting information system, they were influenced by a range of perceptional, dispositional, and environmental factors. By combining components of the unified theory of acceptance and use of technology with institutional theory, results show that 63.4 percent of the variance regarding behavioral intention is attributable to self-efficacy, effort expectancy, coercive, and mimetic pressures. Our findings confirming the significance of self- efficacy and disconfirming experience support calls to consider the influence of self-efficacy upon the use of restrictive decision aids.

Abstract: Cybersecurity is focused on helping the community to make knowledgeable decisions on its adaptation and mitigation. This survey evaluated the level of cybersecurity awareness and discernment amongst university students in Sri Lanka. The study was based on primary data collected through a questionnaire on awareness and the perception of cybersecurity from respondents at universities in Sri Lanka. The results indicated that experience and the level of cybersecurity awareness among university students in Sri Lanka are not significantly low, but there are some knowledge gaps with new threats. Further, the results showed that university students in Sri Lanka were able to identify cybercrime as a threat. These findings necessitate building awareness and developing capacity to improve student's knowledge on the cybersecurity subject especially if universities are to be used as a key focal point in cybersecurity awareness c aigns in Sri Lanka.

Abstract: The purpose of this article is to discuss the risks and reasons of adopting the cloud computing in the critical infrastructure within the government context of cloud computing adoption. The article will also present ex les of cloud computing adoption in the critical infrastructure domain. The data used in the paper was gathered from different academic, governmental, and online sources. It was found that, although there are risks involved in the cloud computing adoption, governments are deploying cloud computing using different deployment models and reaching high level of deployment within the critical infrastructure. The findings of this study suggest that it is not a question of adopting or not anymore, but the question of how to mitigate the risks involved after the deployment.

Abstract: Buying and selling real estate is time consuming and labor intensive, requires many intermediaries, and incurs high fees. Blockchain technology provides the real estate industry with a reliable means of tracking transactions and increases trust between the parties involved. Despite the benefits of blockchain, its adoption in the real estate industry is still in its infancy. Therefore, we investigate the factors that influence the acceptance of blockchain technology by buyers and sellers of real estate. A research model was designed based on the combined strengths of the unified theory of technology acceptance and use model and the technology readiness index model. Data were collected from 301 real estate buyers and sellers and analyzed using the partial least squares method. The study found that real estate stakeholders should focus on psychological factors rather than technological factors when adopting blockchain. This study adds to the existing body of knowledge and provides valuable insights to real estate stakeholders on how to implement blockchain technology.

Abstract: Richer forms of online reviews such as videos or follow‐on reviews convey ‘additional information and can attract consumers’ attention. However, prior studies focused mostly on the relationship between aggregated online reviews and sales. This paper investigates the impact of online review richness (i.e., reviews containing videos or follow‐on reviews) on sales. Leveraging attribute substitution theory, we conjecture that online review richness can provide heuristic cues in the online shopping environment to help consumers make better purchase decisions. Using data from JD.com , we found that reviews containing either videos or follow‐on reviews positively affect sales. In addition, different product types can also serve as heuristic cues to replace target cues, which can further affect how different forms of online review richness affect sales. We found that the impact of online review richness on sales is stronger for utilitarian products than for hedonic products, and stronger for negatively commented products than for positively commented products. Moreover, we conducted two online experiments and confirmed that the causal relationship is from online review richness to sales. The research findings offer practical implications for online retailers and constitute one of the first steps toward a better understanding of the relationship between online review richness and sales.

Abstract: – The purpose of this paper is to empirically examine the influence of different organisational cultures on e-commerce adoption maturity in small- and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs). – The data for this study were gathered using postal survey questionnaire and analysed using quantitative analysis methods. – The result indicates a positive correlation between adhocracy culture and e-commerce adoption. However, those firms with hierarchy cultural characteristics indicate a negative correlation in relation to e-commerce adoption. The organisational culture differences explain these issues. – The analysis is conducted in a single country (i.e. Sri Lanka). Initial findings provide a basis for further research in other country. – This research reveals the significance of organisational culture and how it influences e-commerce adoption maturity, both positively and negatively. The research findings are useful for SMEs that are planning or are in the process of implementing or reviewing their e-commerce, as well as for SMEs policy makers and business support community that engaged with e-commerce initiatives. – This study is the first to research the influence of different types of organisational cultures on e-commerce adoption maturity. It fills the research gap by advancing the understanding between the association of organisation cultures and e-commerce adoption.

Abstract: Cloud computing is a recent computing paradigm enabling organizations to have access to sophisticated computing services via the Internet on a fee-for-service basis. It provides Small and Medium-sized Enterprises (SMEs) with opportunities to become as technologically advanced as their larger counterparts, without significant financial outlays. This paper examined the important factors that influence SMEs’ adoption of cloud computing technology. Drawing upon aspects of the Technology, Organization and Environment framework and Diffusion of Innovation Theory, we developed a research model of SMEs’ adoption of cloud computing and tested it through an online survey of 149 Australian SMEs. Data was analyzed using multiple regression methods, with results showing that SMEs were influenced by factors related to advantaging their organizational capability (i.e., relative advantage, quality of service and awareness) rather than risk-related factors (i.e., security, privacy and flexibility). The findings offer insights to SMEs owners, Cloud service providers and government in establishing Cloud computing adoption strategies for SMEs.
